Biography
I teach English (writing) at Queensborough Community College, CUNY, and Long Island University, Post Campus. I was a contributing op-ed writer at The Australian, and have written for The Washington Post, The New York Daily News, The Independent (UK) and The Writer magazine, among other outlets.
My short stories have won awards and been published in the U.S., Australia and India, including a mystery story in Queens Noir.
I was chair of the Hammett Award Reading Committee 2011 and a judge for the International Thriller Writer awards for 2011 and 2012. My short stories have won awards and have been published the U.S., India and Australia, including in Queens Noir. I have been Vice President and a board member of the Mystery Writers of America, New York Chapter, and a board member, and screening series curator for CineWomenNY, where I also taught workshops on adapting prose fiction for the screen.
